چکیده

A study was conducted to evaluate efficiency of Mycotal at a concentration 1.2 x 107 spores / ml and Trichoderma harzianum concentrations 1.5 106 on nymphs adults the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci under field conditions eggplant, Solanum melongena. The results revealed that Mycotal, active substance is fungus Lecanicillium muscarium, showed highest average relative in killing treatment, which amounted 79.93 85.62%, respectively, compared with T. treatment for two concentrations, 60.76, 67.76% 69.55, 72.19% adults, respectively.

siRNA Machinery in Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci)

BACKGROUND RNA interference has been emerged as an utmost tool for the control of sap sucking insect pests. Systemic response is necessary to control them in field condition. Whitefly is observed to be more prone to siRNA in recent studies, however the siRNA machinery and mechanism is not well established. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS To identify the core siRNA machinery, we curated transcr...

Leaf Morphological Characters Can Be a Factor for Intra-Varietal Preference of Whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) among Eggplant Varieties

The sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) MEAM1, is considered a serious pest of horticultural and many other crops. While eggplant (Solanum melongena) is one of the most favored host plants, the whiteflies exhibit preferences among different varieties. We hypothesized that certain morphological leaf characteristics of different varieties, like leaf trichome density, tri...

Genome sequencing of the sweetpotato whitefly Bemisia tabaci MED/Q

The sweetpotato whitefly Bemisia tabaci is a highly destructive agricultural and ornamental crop pest. It damages host plants through both phloem feeding and vectoring plant pathogens. Introductions of B. tabaci are difficult to quarantine and eradicate because of its high reproductive rates, broad host plant range, and insecticide resistance. A total of 791 Gb of raw DNA sequence from whole ge...
